APIkit goes Beta43 Comments

Erica Sadun | 2:01 pm | December 10, 2009 | Test Requests

As I posted on Twitter, APIkit is this because of this. In other words, it’s a developer response to Apple’s automated API scanning system, offering a proactive heads-up about method names and function names that might trigger a problem over in the App Store system.

Erica Sadun | 4:14 pm | November 23, 2009 | 3.x, Test Requests, Software

I’ve opened up DEMOkit (thanks Brett for the strange casing!) for a limited beta. Let me know if you want in. Devs only.

BetaKit betatest4 Comments

Erica Sadun | 1:02 pm | November 16, 2009 | 3.x, Test Requests

UPDATE: I have enough testers for now. I’ll open this up for more testers once things are more stable.

UPDATE: BetaKit 0.9 new look and feel. Screen shot here

I’ve started a small beta test of BetaKit. Ping me if you want in. BetaKit provides a floating invisible overlay over your app, when tapped in a hotspot (you set which corner), it opens an in-app e-mail populated with a screen shot, device information, any text you’ve output via NSLog(), and optional user feedback. The idea is that you  add this to any app you’re sending out for beta testing, allowing users to send you screen shots and feedback while they are using the app. Screen shots of the interface in action: here and here

If you haven’t been keeping track of me on Twitter (@ericasadun) be aware that I keep a folder on this site that I load up with items for testing. Most of these require you to sign an application using your personal credentials (a signit script is in that folder) or to test on a jailbroken system. Right now, I have a pair of items in there that provide a Mac-based clipboard server and an iPhone client that communicates with the server. Run the client and it retrieves any text stored on the Mac clipboard, ready for use on the iPhone.

Beta Test: appLoad5 Comments

Erica Sadun | 11:13 am | September 25, 2008 | 2.1, Test Requests, Update

I’ve put together a 2.1 version of appLoad (it’s a command-line utility for registering new applications) for testing here. I think I’ve signed it but if I haven’t please use ldid -S.

Beta test: Converter (Simulator only)1 Comment

Erica Sadun | 11:10 am | | 2.1, Simulator, Test Requests, Software

Latest version of Converter is here and ready for testing. I’m looking forward to your feedback. To install, unzip and copy both the sb file and the folder into ~/Library/Application\ Support/iPholator/User/Applications/. Then run the simulator.

Erica Utilities: With Tweeting Power25 Comments

Erica Sadun | 12:16 pm | August 6, 2008 | 2.0, Test Requests, Update, Admin, Utilities

Just added tweet to the updated 2.0 Erica Utilities. Pass it three arguments: your twitter name, your twitter password and your tweet (use quotes to keep it as one argument). I’ll be writing this up over at O’Reilly for Friday.

Test Request: App Flow v218 Comments

Erica Sadun | 12:29 pm | July 31, 2008 | 2.0, Test Requests, Update, Applications, Software

An updated of AppFlow is available now in the Applications folder. If I did this correctly, the executable already is signed and you should be able to drop it into /Applications on your iPhone, respring and go on your way. Let me know how it works.
