SendPics Last night, I think I cracked the whole getting pictures from the library as well as the DCIM folder thing. Is anyone interested in my expanding SendPics (which sends full-resolution images by email) to pictures that weren’t snapped on the iPhone?
SendFile SendFile is still a big-old hack. Depending on how Apple delivers the SDK, do any of you think it’s worth a re-look? I’d have to redesign it from the ground up. So think about what you might want SendFile to do and give me some ideas of where you’d like to see it go.
SendSong I updated SendSong to 1.1.3 as a favor for a friend. Is there still any compelling reason for it to exist?
ToDo ToDo has been in limbo for a while because I find it useful as is and want to avoid any duplication of effort if I can send tasks to Mobile Cal. Any urgent feature requests?
XLaunch Icon hiding isn’t going to be a feature because of some deep-seated philosophical issues I have about running as user mobile and respecting ownerships. Any other requests?

Since recent versions compiled for 1.1.2 don’t appear to play well with 1.1.1, I’ve uploaded a few older archives to the Voice Notes folder. Let me know if they are better suited for 1.1.1 use.

1.Bluetooth Support for iPod Application in iPhone Unlikely to happen any time soon. I haven’t done any Bluetooth development. 2.Sendsong: Add Audio Editing Tool to Pick a 30 Second Clip for the Ringtone. Possible but hard. Added to the To-Do list. 3.Send and Receive Any File Using Bluetooth See #1. I haven’t done any Bluetooth development. 4.Make It Mine: Create Install Package Done 5.Voicemail: Trick Visualvoicemail Application to Launch without Subscribing to Such Service Something I’ll look into. 6.Sendsong: Add Sorting, 7.Sendsong: Add Searching On my immediate to-do list. 8.Sendsong: Add Paging to Avoid the Crash for Scrolling Lists That Are Too Long Hopefully sorting and searching will take care of this without paging. 9.Vrecord : While Recording Is in Progress, It Should Not Lock the Screen Even If Auto Lock Is Enabled There is, unfortunately, no way to override this preference without restarting SpringBoard at this time. 10.Assign a Video to a Caller Sorry, this isn’t going to happen. 11.Fix Libpurple to Allow More Than One Libpurple App to Run at a Time Much as I’d like to redesign and rewrite the entire iPhone OS, it’s unlikely that I have time to do so. This is an unlikely item. 12.Dynamic DNS Client (GUI Native or Cmdline) I would love to do this. I’m not entirely sure how though. 13.Xlaunch: Allow Changing Visibility of Multiple Items at a Time like Customize Hmmm. Maybe. Let me see if I can think of a clean way to do that. 14.Xlaunch: Allow User to Change Order of Installer and Xlaunch This is primarily a safety issue because of all the tech support, letters, overhead from people who accidentally push one or the other off screen. So…maybe. But probably not. 15.Voicenotes: Add Voice Mail Import Done. 16.Xlaunch: Segregate Visible and Invisible Apps into Separate Sections I actually tried this and decided against keeping it. It’s too hard to find apps when you have to search two different lists. I like them combined better for overall usability. I’m also working on the double-listing bug when people use a symbolic link between /Applications and /var/root/Applications. 17.Sendsong: Adding Twice an AAC Track Should Not Add Duplicate Entry into the Ringtones List. Known issue. Working on it. Don’t forget you can remove ringtones by tapping Edit. 18.Xlaunch: Crashes Due to Use with Afp Temporary Files in the Applications Folders I believe this is now fixed. Let me know. 19.Make a Utility like ‘Alert’ That Displays a Simple Table of Multi-Selectable Items Done. It’s the -T option in alert. 20.Voicenotes and TAPP: Fix the Keyboard Bug Fixed in VoiceNotes. Are there people still using Tapp? 21.Xlaunch: Allow Removing Items from Button Bar This has been in the app for forever. Just toggle the visibility of the item you want to remove. 22.Xlaunch: Doesn’t Allow Installer to Be on Button Bar Aesthetics. Safety. Hmmm. Maybe. 23.Various: Fix the Bug Where Email Is Not Properly Sent I have been unable to duplicate this error. Please give more details.

New version of plutil ready to be tested. The new version lets you set boolean, string, integer and float values and should complain (rather than barf) when presented with a nonexistent file. The updated version is in the Erica Utilities folder. Please leave feedback in the comments. Thanks!!

Please test for stability, for text editing (renaming), etc, and leave feedback in the comments. Thank you! Test version is here. For iPhone only–unless you have a MicroMemo or other iPod recording accessory.
This version should fix/add:

On the concern that the problems are cropping up in /Library/LaunchDaemons instead of /System/Library/LaunchDaemons, I’ve changed the directory enumeration for that folder as well. New version 0.32 also does a few extra checks when doing the reverse lookup after you select a daemon. Hopefully these new checks will help stabilize the whole program but as always, the law of unintended consequence lingers. Please test and let me know if this fixes your problems. Also, please add an ls -al of /Library/LaunchDaemons to any bug reports. Thanks. You can download the new version from here.

I hear that as of 1.1.1, the text edits in Tapp and Vnotes are crashing. I’m on the case and will report back when I figure out what’s wrong.

If you launch an app after installing it via Installer.app and it launches and then quits, please try installing the BSD Subsystem before emailing me. Thanks!!! More information about this at Shaun’s blog

I’m about to do a few updates on Voice Notes and need your feedback. Voice Notes is my iPhone recording program. It allows you to record your voice using the speech-specific AMR format, and then play back those notes, manage your notes library, and share those notes by email.
For those of you familiar with VNotes, what features do you want to see? What changes do you want me to make? Bugs to fix? Here’s my current list of feature improvement goals. Feel free to add!
Sharing Add a feature that allows you to share wirelessly between iPhones. Add iPod touch receiver & playback.
Voice Mail Scan the voice mail folder as well as the recordings folder, so you can play back and share vmail as well as vnotes.
Beeps Users have requested quick beeps at the start and end of recording.
Improved renaming Better names and debugging.
Import into iTunes Frankly, I am nowhere near figuring out how to add to your music library. But this remains on the list as a feature I’d really like to add.
Scrubber bar This one is low on my priority list, guys. A scrubber with pause/stop, positioning.
MP3 conversion The magnificent core of wickedpsyched.com has ported ffmpeg to iPhone. It converts amr to mp3. But given how huge this tool is, I’m hesitant to include it in the otherwise compact VNotes distribution.
So that’s my working list. What do you guys want to see? Let me know in the comments.
