…at least it does for the moment.

An updated of AppFlow is available now in theĀ Applications folder. If I did this correctly, the executable already is signed and you should be able to drop it into /Applications on your iPhone, respring and go on your way. Let me know how it works.

A bit back, I put together YET ANOTHER light saber program as a side-effect of trying to get the pedometer working. (It was an accident, really. Pedometer, light-saber — they always tend to morph into each other.) Unlike other light sabers, mine is multi-player. As with many other programs, it’s stuck in Apple review and there’s no way to update it with the better, newer multi-player features until Apple approves the older version.

The new 2.0 SDK version of XLaunch combines all the features you use and love in the 1.1.4 version plus several new options. I’m pleased that I was able to upgrade the application without losing features along the way–and especially happy that I was able to merge MakeItMine and Banner in without destroying the simple interface.
You can still launch webclips and badge apps, and assign applications to the home key for double-taps. You can still browse in both table or coverflow modes.
Now you can also set carrier text and the banner text via the Customize options. And I’m considering adding other customization features there as well. If you have any other suggestions or feature requests, please speak up! Now’s the time to jump in while the design remains fluid.

So I’ve been hard at work on the new SDK and have been developing an application that more or less merges a lot of the functionality of SendSong, SendFile, SendPics, etc. Some features have been ellusive–Apple apparently disabled email attachments from the iPhone–others work well, such as Bonjour file sharing.
Here is the current feature set along with planned areas. Now’s the time to speak up if you’d like to see a feature added or have questions about how the program works. It’s basically a file browser that allows you to walk through the entire UNIX Application tree–wherever Apple’s sandboxing allows, that is–preview, inspect, and share files.

If you’ve installed the SDK, you can download and run a copy of my iPhone To-Do list software from my new SDK application folder. It’s basically my old ToDo list app ported to the new SDK, which took far longer than I honestly thought it would. No re-ordering yet on cells. When we either soft-upgrade to 1.2, or get an Apple 1.2 firmware upgrade, it should be able to run natively. For now, the point was to get a program running, figure out how to distribute and install it (instructions are on the linked page) so that it could be tested and used in the wild. So, you know, like “Yay!”

I’ve moved AppFlow into the deprecated folder. All its functionality has been merged into XLaunch.

As part of my iPhone Programming book project, I ended up doing some cover flow work last night and AppFlow is the result. It’s a simple cover-flow based application launcher. You can check it out here. To use, just flip to your favorite application (it’s alphabetical) and double-tap the icon to launch.

Minor changes to Tapp–man, how I love this program! Now you can re-tap an existing table selection. Updated version here.
