XLaunch 0.17 is updated with lots of new features

My new version of XLaunch brings with it icon reordering support. XLaunch is the next item up for my documentation project but in the short term before you get full docs, here are some of the new features: I renamed a lot of the menu options to make them easier to understand. I also added explanation text to some pop-up menus. All apps in the basic launcher are now alphabetical and the iPod app is back in there. XLaunch now forces itself into slot #13 and it tries to stick at least one version of Installer.app into slot #14. This is for safety so you don’t end up with both of these off screen and no way to install or launch programs. Outside of these changes, there are a few stability fixes and the bottom navbar now gives a few hints about what you’re supposed to do on each screen.Leave your feedback and questions in the comments and I’ll try getting the manual up to date before next week. This is still iPhone only. Once it’s stable, I’ll add an iTouch version as well.

I LOVE that you can now reorder applications that are in var/root/Applications. However, I wish it would allow the user to reorder XLaunch and Installer. I understand that you don’t want people unable to get to their programs, but perhaps an error message could pop up if the user wanted both icons off the first screen. Especially because many people hide the last row of icons (leaving both on the second screen anyway).

Hey Erica. It would be 12 kinds of awesome if we could have icon reordering in 1.1.1/1.1.2 via XLaunch that would allow you to place XLaunch in any location we choose.

It would be great if XLaunch saved a temporary list of programs that can be manually refreshed.
Right now it hangs for a few seconds when starting while it searches for programs, which can get kind of annoying when you just want to start up something quickly.
