Stupid Me: Widgets

Erica Sadun | 8:57 am | November 1, 2007 | Update, iPod touch, iPhone

The reason Widgets weren’t running for me under 1.1.1 is because I stupidly forgot to add the /System/Library/WidgetResources folder. This folder must be installed on your iPhone or iPod touch in order for the widgets to run properly. They are now running as well or better than they did under 1.0.2, which still isn’t all that great but not completely busted.

Stupid Me: Can’t follow directions.
Hello Erica, Thanks for doing a great job at TUAW.
I’m trying to read everything you have written about the iPhone, but can’t find out how to complete the directions from “run widgets (kinda) on your iPhone”. In step 2 & 3, I think you add to the iPhone’s code from the Mac’s code. (Is that correct?) How does one do this? Do you have a guide for this somewhere you can link me to? Thanks– Tony

Mobile Safari does not allow you to download and save widgets.

Thanks for all your incredible iPhone contributions Erica!!

Quick question about your Widgets for iPhone: Do you have a sense/list of which widgets work?

I’ve tried a dozen+ widgets and while most show an interface, none provide working functionality.

I’m particularly looking for photography/travel related items, especially sunrise/sunset/moon calculations….
