Announcing: snapngo
Erica Sadun | 6:18 pm | November 1, 2007 | Update, Utilities, iPod touch, iPhone
Snapngo grabs the contents of the screen and then serves it via bonjour, using the file name you specify, e.g. snapngo fileshot will send fileshot.png to whatever device is listening for it. This is meant to be used with FileCatcher, so you can snap on your iPod touch or iPhone and the file instantly appears on your Mac Desktop.
It’s part of the Erica Utilities.

So, just a quick question …. if I use snapngo, and the file lands on my desktop, is the file still on the iphone somewhere that I should clean up later? Or is it stored in a temp location that I don’t have to worry about?

Don’t worry about temporary files. I snap into the /tmp folder and the one file gets deleted on reboot.

Would you be willing to share the undocumented API call that captures the screen?
